While I was always great at math, until his class, I always HATED math class (it had been one of my favorite subjects in Elementary school.)
Math seems to attract some of the absolutely worst teachers, especially in Jr. High. I know part of that is no one wants to teach math, but I digress.

Mr. Jackson (taught at MVHS, and Timpanogos once that opened) was amazing. He encouraged using calculators. He specifically taught kids how to use the cool functions for what we were learning. In his class, math was fun again.
If more teachers took his approach, I think more kids would enjoy math, and be better at it.

I know my kids at Timpanogos currently have had some good math teachers. They seem better than the ones I had growing up... other than Mr.Jackson. He was absolutely the best.
