could do for our program. If home field advantage could help us win that game (statistics show home field is a factor in winning), then could a win at home over a hopefully ranked ND have longer term financial benefits for our program than a quick financial shot in the arm would? It's maybe a 3 million dollar difference between playing in Vegas and playing in Provo? I don't know the exact financials. But we have to ask ourselves how much money is a win over ND worth. Because playing at home in a packed, rocking LES is likely to give BYU a significant advantage in that game.
In other words, the program may benefit more long term with a win over ND than the extra 3 million. BYU is in a program building phase. We need quality wins against national programs. Anything we can do to make that more likely seems like a smart approach.
Remember what the win in Provo against Miami did to BYU's national profile and Ty Detmer's journey to fame.
