Is it possible that BYU and the church is lying to the donors? That the athletic department isn't taking money from tuition and is just lying and saying it is?

I mean, sure, it's possible. I don't know why you would claim you're doing something unpopular though if it's not true. Or repeatedly claim that ESPN is paying you less while simultaneously trying to argue you're big-time and making big money.

But there's been zero evidence provided to the contrary. I've asked for it numerous times (especially on the TV deal part) and all I get is "it's definitely way higher, it's absurd you don't know that".

If the church is lying it could be for more or it could be less. But for right now, I'll base it on the only data that's been shown, instead of just resorting to wishful thinking with no basis
