Sounds a little myopic
Who’s coattails were they riding when they busted the impossible BCS ceiling?

Or when they did i it again with a statement win against an SEC powerhouse?

I don’t think Utah is as co dependent as BYU people think.

You mentioned SDSU, Boise, BYU, UNLV. They have all been in the mountain west. The same conference as Utah was. Same resources.

While BYU and Boise excelled in the weaker WAC, why haven’t they matched Utah’s success in the MW?

It’s the same thing with the Pac-12. Even with fewer resources, UU was on par with OSU, WSU, CU.

Almost every other Pac school had more money, more resources, etc. as soon as Utah just got on the same level in terms of annual revenue in 2014, they have won as much or more than anybody in the conference.

Anybody. They haven’t been brilliant but they have punched above their weight. Just as they did in the MW.

You look at wins, win %, rankings, NFL placement since 2014, there’s little distinction between USC, UW, Oregon and USC. Despite those having substantially more resources, prestige, markedly better recruiting, etc.

Schools like Utah that consistently do more with less or have constantly outperformed those who have similar resources, is not suddenly going to drop.

That’s the whole point. The only people who have really consistently beaten Utah are blue blood programs.

But even when you flip it, Utah has beaten them more than almost any other non-blue blood in the conference.
