Jake had a tale of two seasons his freshman year: the teams he played with a
pulse and the teams he played that had air for defense.

Against the air for defense teams, Jake looked amazing. These happened to be four of the final five teams he played that season. I’ll admit, it had me believing hook, line, and sinker.

Against any team with a pulse, Jake’s numbers were so bad that they dragged down his season numbers to something awful. Any QB with Jake’s freshman season numbers had a very bad season. We just fooled ourselves into believing otherwise when he looked so amazing verses that totally awesome CSU defense.

Jake could throw the ball a mile on a tight spiral. That skill landed him on three FBS level teams and snagged him a scout team position. His inability to read defense nor complete any touch passes is what kept him from being a star and led to his benching on every college team he played on.
