Well you should start with the understanding they don't pay for the uniforms.
Then you should move on to the understanding that BYU as well as Nike makes money off of the different combinations. It's a win/win.
For all intents and purposes uniform deals with companies like Nike and Adidas have been a minor version of NIL for years. They donate the swag specifically for the advertising.
And In this equation, even consumers (fans) win, because it gives them more options of things to buy. Not a soul on the planet loses in this proposition except for the "they're not in the afternoon guy." He hates it because he hates change.
As for your beliefs on what the players like, please don't believe me. Never believe me. I'm an anonymous dude on the internet.
But we do have Google. You can do some searches and you will find a plethora of Facebook and Twitter and Instagram...as well as news reports from before those were the deal, where players talk about this.
