Christian Health Ministries - look into it
I used them for a while and only paid $40/month for the bare minimum. I think the prices have gone up, but still way better than what you're being charged. My parents are self employed and face a similar situation as you, so they dropped insurance completely and went with CHM incase something catastrophic happens.

Yeah, like when the price of a "regular" surgery went from $1,200 to $10k within a year of the ACA. Graft is everywhere.
