sense to vaccinate their kids even if the kids themselves have the typically low risk profile.
Take, for example, a family living in a multigenerational setting (kids, parents and grandparents) or a family with one or more adults who are among those with higher COVID risk factors for poor outcomes if they do contract it. That family might decide to vaccinate their kids, even though there isn't a great risk to their children, to reduce the chance that their child becomes infected and transmits the virus to one of the adults in the house who is at a higher risk.
This was specifically discussed by some of the researchers who presented at the CDC advisory committee meeting on boosters last week.
