Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see this correlation at all. Not to mention, doesn’t the Big 10 and ACC also
pride themselves on academics and research?
Most importantly, have you ever paid attention to most of the athletes declared majors? Most of these kids are chasing the most fluff, useless degrees that the schools offer. Not a chance that academics is a stumbling block.

Unfortunately no. People still love sports more than they should and once the ebb becomes a flow they'll be fine.
