stops, they also had a few hiccups. But by and large, anyone calling for Tuiaki to get fired after the defense snuffed out the very first drive for only three points, and then held on a couple occassions including the last drive is nuts. It's frustrating, but this is a very different defense without Pili and Wilgar in there.
The biggest problem you see is that the LBs still try to do just a little too much, miss assignments in pass coverage. They do pretty well with the run, missed tackles sure, but they didn't overrun as many tackles.
But this secondary, and the potential it has, they took on man coverage yesterday and basically took the WRs out of the game. All the damage was done by the TEs and they are supposed to be covered by a LB.
Overall though, a 10-2 season has given us a gift we should consider. All these players who have fought thru learning to play a level higher faster, will be back. We are going to lose Lopa, but we are going to keep 8 other guys including Pepe on the DL. With Pili and Wilgar back, this could be a very very good D.
