I believe that is accurate.
The biggest other danger is if Oklahoma State wins, they could leapfrog Cincinnati and get into the playoff, giving the Big 12 another auto bid. Some think they will take Cincinnati's playoff spot if they win. I tend to not think so.

Baylor and/or Oregon may be more attractive to bowls even if they lose. They don’t have to follow the strict rankings.
