Sure, in cases of legitimate severe clinical anxiety, which are relatively rare
compared to the amount self-diagnosed people who cite these limitations.

Regardless, I would still argue it's never a great reason to not do something. Even for folks who truly suffer should be trying to find ways to cope and overcome so they can live life with fewer limitations that normally rob them of otherwise positive experiences — that's the entire point of treatment, after all, isn't it?
