The modern "awareness" of mental health has unfortunately had a negative impact
in many cases, as it gives a widely accepted automatic out and crutch that almost anyone can use as an excuse and nobody is allowed to question.

There are people with legitimate and severely limiting mental health issues, and those should be understood and addressed compassionately.

But no, not everyone who gets distracted with their phones has ADD, and not everyone who gets nervous before a Violin recital has anxiety, at least not to the degree that it excuses them from normal human functions.

It's reaching a point that it really undermines the people who really do have real challenges.
