Ummm. That's my point. ND got one. BYU was more qualified than some...and at
least equally qualified as several other NY6 teams this year. UU and Pitt leapfrogging BYU is clearly a joke, to justify having them in a NY6 game ahead of BYU.
I'm not saying you're wrong. That's the bargain/trade-off BYU made being independent when they did not get into a P5 conference. Independence is obviously better than the alternative of a G5 conference.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't expose the obvious flaws in the system when they elevate inferior conference champions over otherwise-qualified programs.
