BCS era there were only 2 teams selected, not 4. G5 teams rarely approach top 2

Going back to 2012 no G5 was even top 7 at the end of the year. Is it a racket? Yes. Is it rigged? Yes. Did any G5 team really come close to making the Playoff? Not really/ rarely. Did teams come close to top 2 before that? Almost never. Utes were the closest in what 2008? No one else was really close.
