lucky that Notre Dame happened to be good this year, and then also get lucky that nobody in the ACC, Big 12, or Pac 12 went undefeated. Bama and Georgia were going to get in, period. And a 1-loss Michigan was going to get in ahead of Cincinnati, too. There was realistically only that #4 spot available, and a LOT had to go Cincinnati's way for them to claim it even though they have achieved perfection for 2 straight years and started the season already in the Top 10. If that's not proof against what Herbie is trying to say here, then there's nothing I could say to convince anybody otherwise.
