There is a difference between what people
say or think they want and what they actually respond to.
People will say they want a quiet intimate restaurant, but you can't find one. They go out of business and get replaced by a bustling noisy place, because that's what they respond to.
Another example is women who claim they want a nice good man, then are repeatedly attracted to the bad boys.
