Lots of things about that season were an anomaly and not long-term sustainable.
Imagine an alternate 2021 where Big 12 expansion already happened, so BYU from last year plays Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Baylor, Houston, Cincy, Iowa St, Kansas St and Texas in conference.
Or an alternate 2021 where BYU plays Texas, Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF, West Virginia, Iowa St and Kansas St
Pretty sure there'd be a meaningful disparity in records.

Sorry, misread. But NCAA rules are divisions for conferences with 12+ teams. AAC only has 11 since UConn left

I like the idea of 4 3-team pods. Each season, you play all teams in your pod, then rotate two other pods each season.

Interesting idea, though I think I'd prefer an 8-game conference schedule so we can have 4 OOC games.
