Agreed - those last few weeks would generate a TON of excitement (and just as importantly) viewers
The Big 12 has great basketball programs, but football drives the show.

Luckily the Big 12 has good football programs, but name brands, marquee attractions and television ratings drive the money, which is crucial to success.

And that's where the Big 12 is really hurting. But this format would be an alternative way to drive that interest and attention that the Big 12 will need.

Even in the worst-case here of two dominant teams matching up 10 times in 6 years, that's still better than the current Big 12 worst-case, where two dominant teams could play one another 2x every year (12x in 6 years). Plus it would honestly probably be good for the conference in some ways to have two teams that consistently great.
