If the goal is for BYU to play in conference championship games option 2 is best
Oklahoma will be gone soon. Cincinnati may or may not be good long term. Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas St. have all traditionally been lower half of the conference. West Virginia seems to be a bit up and down.
If the goal is for the conference to have balanced, entertaining, and geographically close-ish divisions then it has to be option 4. Personally, I think this is the best option.

Sorry, misread. But NCAA rules are divisions for conferences with 12+ teams. AAC only has 11 since UConn left

I like the idea of 4 3-team pods. Each season, you play all teams in your pod, then rotate two other pods each season.

Interesting idea, though I think I'd prefer an 8-game conference schedule so we can have 4 OOC games.
