Not only is it different in terms of NIL and transfer rules but the willingness of kids to transfer the second they’re not named the starter is something that every college coach has to factor in.
It’s not exactly a parallel situation but “loyalty” by Kyle Whittingham to Jack Tuttle cost the Utes Zach Wilson. The kid isn’t named the starter so he leaves and Zach does his thing at BYU.
