Only doing it for a few weeks to a month is asinine. It's like we learned nothing from the pandemic. We had a chance to start school later (which is proven to help kids learn), and get kids out around the same time as before but we couldn't be bothered to adopt a new way. I also think parent expectations of school being a babysitter for their children made a large impact in that decision as well.
We could have optimized education and made it so much better for our students. We could have adopted models on seat time and learning from countries who absolutely are heads and tails better at it then we are. Given more breaks, creative time, exploration time, adjusted learning and expectations. But nope, we went back to what we did before.
