Clayton Christensen's points about 2-factor theory clarify burnout reasons
A job has to be high on the motivation factor (I want to make a difference in kids' lives) and life-style factors (this allows me to live the lifestyle I want). According to Christensen, the best job for a person is high in both areas. Two much in one and not enough in the other can lead to burnout. How many of you chose a job because of the lifestyle factors, but hate the job, and can't get out because your family has acclimated to the lifestyle? How many have chosen a job they are passionate about, but learn to resent aspects of it because it can't cover the lifestyle factors.

Teachers may love helping kids succeed, but get burned out when they are working a full-time job and teaching online, coaching, and/or driver's ed to make ends' meet.

We need less schools with three gyms (one for games and two as auxiliaries), plus fieldhouses, and million dollar stadiums and more resources to pay educators more. Quality teachers deserve more and our kids deserve the highest quality teachers.
