as only 2 seniors decided to play. Halfway through the season, we were really struggling. Coach had a come to Jesus meeting with the team, and brought up a freshman to Varsity and a couple other JV players. He specifically called me out and said "Wicougarman doesn't have half the talent as most of you on this team, but he's out here working his butt off every day. If the rest of you put in that much effort- we'd win every game".

It was a weird sort of backhanded compliment, but I was feeling pretty good about myself. After practice, coach called me over and said he was moving me to JV as he just couldn't guarantee playing time for me on Varsity. I finished the rest of the year as the only junior on the JV team.
