But they do have to do residency (at least now a days idk if they maybe didn’t in the past) and plenty of them do well in medical school.

I am sorry for those who have had bad experiences. I don’t work in the military but plenty of my classmates joined the military before med school so they would pay for it and then do residency and then owe the military a certain amount of years after residency.
