$500M divided by 8 = $62.5M per school; $500M divided by 12 = $41.6M per school
The way for USC, Oregon and other top dogs in the West to keep up with the SEC and B1G media payouts is to join the association so that they get one of those payouts themselves.
I firmly believe that the four California schools, Oregon, Washington and one or two others carry 90%+ of the PAC's media contract value...and that the media contract would increase even more if part of the B1G affiliation where you guarantee that Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin and Nebraska are coming to the market each year.
The best move would be to include Colorado so that you add the Nebraska-Colorado rivalry game and have the top B1G teams coming to Denver...but ASU is also attractive because you have a lot of B1G fans and alumni in the Phoenix area.
