That has not been the trend in college football.
Tons of centuries old, in-state rivalries have been broken in the last couple decades over money. I don't think WSU or OSU would be able to mount any significant backlash to the move, and USC and Stanford are private so in-state political pressure would be limited at best. Regardless, teams have weathered far more for far less when it comes to conference realignment, I don't see that changing in this case.

And bringing up the B1G network, the inventory from going to 26 schools instead of 20 would be marginal at best. There's only so many television slots. In fact, you might very well be diluting the product by pushing the dredges of the PAC onto the B1G network. That's putting aside the enormous logistical challenges of going to 26, and limiting room for expansion in the wake of an ACC collapse. Sorry, I just don't see it.
