Can I ask a sincere question about hobbies?
Sometimes I see colleagues at work who have really cool and significant hobbies. They do woodworking in their spare time, or golf a TON, or train for an Ironman, or always have a fairly significant house project going that they themselves are working on, etc. One guy came and showed me pics of the wooden chairs he built. Another one basically hunts all Fall (at least it seems that way).

My question is this: when do these folks have time for this? I'm not asking that negatively or critically, but my week basically is as follows:

- M - F - Work during the day - Come home and take kids to a practice. Get done with that at 7:30 or 8:00 (between all the kids, they literally have practice every night). Come home and do dinner. Do lung therapy for my youngest kid for an hour (he has Cystic Fibrosis). Then get them to bed between 9 and 10. At that point I'm exhausted. If I'm feeling up to it I'll force myself to do a workout of some sort and then I fall into bed.

Saturday in the Fall is kids football games ALL day long and then usually a date night of some sort. Other times of the year it's lacrosse tournaments, basketball tournaments, or

Sunday is Church meetings starting at 7:00 AM and usually ending at 2:00 PM.

My question again, is when do people have time for these hobbies? Is it a function of life stage? Job type that allows more free time during the day? Are their kids just not involved in sports?

Am I crazy?
