way you do. Life was just hectic for those kid raising years. I retired in July. I'm still young and will work again but I'm trying to find just the right fit. In the mean time, I've been doing some wood working. We inherited almost a complete shop of woodworking tools and it has been good to rekindle that hobby. It is so relaxing and satisfying to build something. However, it doesn't come close to raising kids. I'd gladly put it all on hold for my kids' sake. I often hear a young couple say things like, "well I can't lose myself just because I have kids." I have a hard time with that. I understand their sentiment but for those few years, it has to be about the kids. It is a sacrifice we make to be parents. That doesn't mean you can't still do things for yourself. It just means your time is limited. It all pays off when the grandkids come along.
