My wife would pick up our daughter everyday at high school, drive her to Wendy’s, then back to school while she ate...
her chicken sandwich in the car. It removed our daughter from the hardest part of the school day—lunchtime. Our daughter is awesome, but sort of quirky. Other girls liked leaving her out things or teasing her. There’s no point in letting a kid be miserable everyday at lunch. School can be socially brutal for some kids.
