I'm a well traveled BYU fan.
That includes roadies to most of the WAC and MWC schools for games as well as plenty of trips in the independence era.
The worst are Utah and Wyo fans. SDSU fans also have their moments. With that said, BYU has a significant portion of the fanbase that cry and whine on levels that aren't as common at other schools. These people do it in ways that aren't really congruent with how LDS folks are supposed to act. These folks are loud and they are embarrassing. Many of them are here. Most of them didn't play sports beyond little league.
Stating that other fanbases act poorly isn't an excuse. It's a copout for the weak. BYU, and its fans, needs to be on a higher level. Classy is paramount.
