For a "well traveled BYU fan," you don't know what you are talking about.
Booing the refs and yelling/screaming at them is common at every single school. BYU isn't worse or "on a level that isn't common at other schools." On top of the booing and complaining, other schools have nasty language being yelled all over the place (BYU it is rare, especially the f word) and serious fights and ugly scenes in the stands (also rare at BYU). Singling out BYU as being worse just scream insecurity and is flat out false.
