It's frankly impossible to control for everything, but most efforts do put Wazzu ahead
Too often the response on this board is that in order to compare two teams viewership, you need a multi-year large sample of the teams playing the same opponents on the same channels at the same times on the same network at the same point in the season with the same stakes.

By that standard of evidence, nothing can be argued. You could tell me Ohio St is a better ratings draw than Fresno St and I could tell you that it's only because Ohio St plays better opponents on better channels at better times.

But based on analyses that attempt (as best they can) to control for these things, yes Wazzu ends up ahead. Not ironclad of course - someone can always ask for another level of filtering, but the overall evidence seems to point that way
