Yikes. BYU to be the Northwestern of the Big 12
I talked to a guy I work with this afternoon. I don't talk to him often but I would say he's the most passionate CFB at my work. I'm second. He's a big 10 guy with a degree from Indiana (and also Colorado).

Anyway his opinion is that BYU will become the Northwestern of the Big 12. He said it more eloquently but basically he thinks, In a six year span, BYU will be a really strong top 15 type school one time, a middle of the road bowl eligible team one other year, and the other four years BYU will be at the bottom of the conference. But no matter what BYU will be a tough out for any team even in their worst years.

He said mainly this will be the case because of recruiting. He doesn't expect BYU to make any significant, or maybe any at all, growth in recruiting. BYU will probably get about the same guys they normally get. Unusually good coaching, player development, and toughness will help us get to those good years. But there will be too many recruiting restrictions that won't allow BYU to keep pace with the rest of the league.

What are your thoughts?
