1) Who are the players being talked about in the video?
2) What offers did they have (FCS? FBS? G5? P5)
3) High school coaches are KNOWN to have bias. Example: My local HS coach will push kids to Utah over BYU.. and has for years.

The instant BYU moved into the BIG12 their entire recruiting approach changed. They no longer wanted projects, they wanted instant talent (higher * kids) [this has been well documented]

BYU's plan for the BIG12 move has always been Transfer Portal + swing for the fence-type recruits (on defense and offense).

Lamb and Tuaki could only recruit for spots they have openings for.
Tiaki and Lamb couldn't make offers on their own, The entire staff gets together and votes yes/no.
ARod got most of the 'wildcard' scholarships over the past 5 years.
^ This is why BYU was walk-on heavy on defense the past few years.

Tuiaki resigned early in 2022 but Kalani made him wait until the end of the season.. at that time Kalani took over all of his recruiting areas (specifically Utah)... so almost zero local/Utah defense recruiting happened during this time. (also why J.Hill hit Utah recruiting hard when he was hired.. to catch back up)

Say what you want about Lamb and Tuaki on the field... but in kid's homes, they are some of the best recruiters.
