go to his school, nothing. So then he wasn't interested in playing for coaches that couldn't even make an effort to try and recruit him.
Another one I forgot about was Cade Albright. Kalani had to go in at the end and mend much of the damage from neglect by Lamb and Tuiaki.
I wouldn't say zero interest from Akana. Yes he was looking to go out of state, but you will never win the big recruits if you don't try, and Ed and Tuiaki didn't even try. Never once did they go to his school even though it's a few miles from BYU campus. That's inexcusable. You still try. And guess what? Jay Hill and his coaches are trying. They are recruiting the local studs, even if it is a long shot. You are going to swing and miss more often than you hit when you are pursuing the biggest stars. But that's what you have to do. Not trying is horrible.
And with Esera, even though he committed, he was backing off that commitment and was very close to committing to UCLA. Jay Hill and Kalani saved the day. Tuiaki and Lamb just didn't put any effort at all into recruiting their final 2 or 3 years at BYU.
