I have been able to attend many practices the last few years...
A few things stood out:
1. Never in my life have I seen a football coach - at any level - so short. It was honestly shocking.
2. After a while, it became apparent to me that no coach on the staff was more beloved and respected than Clark. Those players loved Clark BECAUSE of his small stature and his massive heart/courage/competitiveness.
I was shocked to hear the news, because first and foremost I though Clark was our best recruiter. And secondly, I think it's a blow to the team morale.
Is he a scapegoat? Maybe, but I sure hope not. I hope this move is more strategic than it is CYA.
