I appreciate the honest (and brave) post here. CB can be a den of wolves…
It’s easy to mock someone when you’re anonymous… I didn’t know making fun of your dad’s height was a thing, but I can assure you, it was likely only on CB.

Getting into the meat of your post though, in every round of bad anything, there’s always a scapegoat. In this case, I do think coach Clark was just that. If I recall, we have two 4* TEs that committed to us in the coming years. Seemed to be the one bright spot on offense as well over the last couple of years. (Isaac Rex was an absolute stud and it’s going to be great seeing him play on Sundays)

They did the same thing to my guy Mike Empey back in 2017. In the dark days of Detmer, Empey’s O-Line was about the only good thing on the team, let alone that anemic offense. Yet they needed a scapegoat and (for the 2nd time- Crowton also fired him as a scapegoat) Empey was the one to be on the receiving end of the blame.

I think it just comes with the territory of being a position coach. As the coordinator, you get some extra rope. That rope gets tighter when your side of the ball doesn’t perform. You look to get some slack back by pointing to areas you think could improve, and you get that once chance the following season to prove you were right. If things don’t improve, the coordinator is gone. As the HC, you hope this doesn’t happen more than once or twice in as many years, otherwise your head is on the chopping block. That’s where Kalani is at the moment, which is why we’re seeing him keep A-Rod.

At the end of the day though, it seems your dad will benefit from taking a step back to reaffirm with himself that he is capable of doing what he’s passionate about. If it’s something he wants to do, he’ll get another shot, and I for one am rooting for him!
