I totally agree with giving Marcus some grace in this situation. He's a young

kid and he's been through a lot. He doesn't deserve to be a punchline because life's twists that brought him here has also taken him away.

The rest of it? Meh. It's a venture. Some people are going to love it while others are going to {crap} talk it. Grow a thicker skin. Take the good and ignore the bad.
