A dozen years ago, our ward's relief society was making homemade vanilla.
1. It was really, really good vanilla extract. Noticeably better than what I get from the store.
2. More than one ward member took a selfie with Grey Goose in the ward kitchen area.
3. Months later at financial audit time, I remember really crossing my fingers that those receipts didn't get selected for closer inspection.

I make gallons of vanilla a year. I’ve never made something that burned when using homemade vanilla.

What did we do wrong? I am sure it isn’t supposed to be that strong. We didn’t even finish the ice cream.

Could have been a few things. Poor beans. Not enough beans. Didn’t let them age long enough. Didn’t shake them often.
