Is there that big a difference from retail to go thru process of making own?
Genuinely curious.
And if it is much better, does that change the portion you use in recipes?
Also, is there a place to purchase high-end vanilla that would make a difference in cooking/baking?

I make gallons of vanilla a year. I’ve never made something that burned when using homemade vanilla.

What did we do wrong? I am sure it isn’t supposed to be that strong. We didn’t even finish the ice cream.

Could have been a few things. Poor beans. Not enough beans. Didn’t let them age long enough. Didn’t shake them often.
