salaries are determined: based on supply and demand. Salaries should be determined solely by market forces: How many of you does the market need, and how many of you are available on the market? Pay shouldn't be proportional to how hard you work or how much you studied, simply by how much people are willing to pay for what you do in light of other available options. If med school were made easier, more people would become doctors, and pay would be lower.

Same thing goes for minimum wages. I'd rather see a fair market that allows for imported labor than to see wages be propped up artificially.
