Student athletes don't enrich universities,

They will help raise money for athletic departments, but for universities as whole, they operate not as for profit entities. There are for the most part no shareholders.

I don't know where student athlete advocates come away believing they have been ripped off. Perhaps their stipends should pay so that there are no extra costs uncovered, but I don't buy the economics argument.
