One of the problems with evaluating S&C folks is that the data on best practices isn't published in sports medicine or PMR journals. Something was wrong back with all the injuries but I have no idea what it was. There is some evidence that number of repetitions has some effect on ligament injuries but it's very hard to say for much else. They military data on stretching indicated no decrease in injuries with static, dynamic or reciprocal inhibition stretching.
In addition most of the data is proprietary. Different teams in the NFL keep their data secret to give their teams a benefit in terms of injury prevention. You'd think the the players union would pressure to have all that data made public to help all the players in the league but they haven't. They have a better chance of doing it than college athletes who only have benevolent college administrators looking out for their best interests though.
