I think you nailed it.
Utah is sending DLineman to the NFL on a regular basis. Aside from Ziggy coming to BYU and pretty much growing himself into a NFL talent, what has BYU done with the players we have gotten? You are kidding yourself if you try to say that High School kids these days don't care about if the school is putting guys into the NFL from their position. Part of the reason I think we got Fred Warner is that Kyle Van Noy did so well.
Putting players in the NFL matters. BYU has not been getting that done successfully in any real quantities for years.
