In a 3-4 defense they are supposed to merely plug holes and take
up space. If they get pressure on a QB and the cherry on top are sacks than all the better. Because of their plugging holes it opens up the outside LB's hence KVN having a fantastic career.
I think if we did have a 4-3 defense you would see more sacks come from the ends and then the lb's would have more tackles instead of sacks.
