Kids have access to a lot more data than they did 20 years ago. Good on them if they want to venture beyond Utah Valley when they become adults. Ole Miss wasn't a slam dunk for Peyton Manning...because Peyton Manning wanted to carve his own legacy. Some kids may want to follow in dad's footsteps. Others want to follow their own path...and they have an easier time doing that now because gathering and sending data is much easier than it was.
The term slam dunk suggests entitlement. There is no such thing...not on BYU's part, and not on the player's part. BYU has no obligation to offer a "legacy" kid if they think they have a better option in Texas or California or South Carolina. Likewise the player has no obligation to go to BYU just because dad did.
