clearly but the underlying point he's making is still valid even if misinterpret
...ed a little. It would make ute fans feel better about life in general and their own situation in particular if BYU didn't have anything good going for them (ie Indy, great games on the schedule and more coming from legit p5 opponents, their own individual ESPN contract, p5 conferences softening in their esteem re BYU, etc) and HAD to go back crawling to the MWC.

Indy certainly isn't as good as being in a p5 conference and I think 9 out of 10 BYU fans and 100% of the team, coaches and administrators agree. But the assertion that Utah fans (in essence) get their undies in a wad collectively regarding BYU's place in the college football world is a valid one. Just go to any Utah or BYU article on DN or the Trib and read the message boards then compare them to other p5 school message boards. I NEVER read ASU fans, UA fans, Cal fans, Texas fans, etc post all kinds of acknowledgement about their conference alignment. I think Utah is likely one of the only schools in America that lauds their conference alignment well before their school.

The tone in most comments is reminiscent of a kid who can't enjoy the gift he has because they're so bothered by what their sibling has/is playing with or the neighbor kid who is so insecure that he always has to engage in a contest of one-upmanship and can't be happy with what he has. (The kid next door in my cul-de-sac is like that and super annoying. My kids don't want to play with him).
