However if my team's home schedule was basically 1-2 P5 games and a bunch of MWC teams and I have no shot at a playoff spot after or NY6 bowl after my first loss, and no conference championship race to win or spoil then I'd lose interest and probably not show up for the Savannah state game. Pictures of BYU home game crowds in November make me believe this is not my Ute coming through. Those pics of an empty stadium make me think this is basic fan cost/benefit analysis that many people agree with.
I get you actually play a better schedule than you would in MWC, but the games seem to be away and neutral site with return visits in principle but very few have materialized.
I get the exposure and ceiling are much higher as an Indy and that's great, but undefeated seasons with a tough schedule are a tall order and it seems like that ceiling drops to whatever bowl game BYU has contracted in September or October 100% of the time so far, and usually at the hands of an in state rival. That would bum me out as a fan.
Like I said. I don't care what BYU does. I hope it works out somehow for you guys. I'm pretty sure most Ute fans are in my boat as a regular browser of UFN I know the guys over there aren't constantly talking about why BYU needs to rejoin the MWC so I'm curious as to where this mysterious Ute "push" is coming from?
Anyway. My $0.02
