BYU needs to do what's best for the program and not worry about how Ute fans view it. Honestly, until BYU finds a way into a P5 conference I'm going to consider them a lower tier team. Maybe that's wrong but until BYU starts playing 9-10 P5 teams per season that's how I'll view them.
As far as returning to the MWC, I fail to see why some Zoobs view that as such a terrible course of action. I don't think the Y should have ever left. BYU can still play 3 high profile games and the world won't come crashing down when they lose one or two. The team can still compete for the conference title and if successful probably get a sweet deal (Fiesta Bowl) like Boise did last season. Instead, a 11-1 or 10-2 season would likely land the team in the same bowl as a 6-6 season. Speaking of which does BYU even have a bowl lined up for this coming season? IMHO, I fail to see the downside...besides damaged pride.
